This 3-day course takes you through the process of creating your very own audience development plan for your organisation. During this course you will:

  • Learn what goes into an audience development strategy
  • Use a series of tools and resources to help develop your thinking
  • Apply your learning to your organisation
  • Work with colleagues to discuss your ideas
  • Write your own audience development strategy for your organisation

 

Your audience development strategy is your road map to increasing audiences, visitors and customers to your organisation.  It is integral to:

  • Expanding your reach and brand awareness 
  • Remaining relevant and accessible and deepening engagement with your audiences
  • Underpinning all your marketing decisions
  • Streamlining your action plans
  • Improving your financial return on marketing spend
  • Improving your efficiency and capacity within the team
  • Improving your organisation wide financial income / position
  • Providing funders with a ready-to-go strategy

During this course you will better understand:

  • Your organisation, brand and proposition 
  • The environment and context in which you sit
  • Who your audiences are and who you want them to be in future
  • What do you want your audiences to do, and how do you want them to behave
  • What you need to do in order to make that actually happen
  • Have your very own audience development plan for your organisation!

Day 1 is all about analysis, looking inwardly at your organisation, who you are, what you do and why you are important. We also look outwardly at your environment to understand the strengths and challenges that your organisation faces. 

Sessions focus on:

  • Your organisation, brand and proposition
  • The environment and context in which you sit

Day 2 is all about your audiences, understanding who your audiences are currently, who they could be in the future and how you can tailor what you do to ensure you remain relevant and accessible to them. Then we explore how you might want your audience engagement to develop over time. 

Sessions focus on 

  • Who your audiences are and who you want them to be in future
  • What do you want your audiences to do, and how do you want them to behave

Day 3 is all about the specifics, where we map out exactly what you will do to deliver your audience objectives, and then, how you will monitor your progress, make tweaks to your plans, and evaluate your success.

Sessions focus on 

  • What you need to do in order to achieve audience objectives
  • How you can measure your progress and success

Each day compromises of a morning and afternoon session, each with:

  •  60 minute seminar session that deepens your knowledge and understanding
  • A 20 minute breakout session to network, collaborate and explore your ideas
  • 2 x 45 minute co-working sessions where you apply the thinking to your own organisation, and start writing your strategy
  • A 15 minute breakout session to share your progress

  • Hands on help throughout the day – Flying Geese’s lead consultant Beckie Smith will facilitate the day, deliver the seminar sessions, and will be on hand throughout the day to answer any questions, talk through your ideas, and empower you in working through any obstacles.
